Mountain Bike Descriptions
Northern Farm is a mountain biker’s dream with a wide range of different terrains suitable to everyone from beginners to Competitive cyclists in an environment safe and suitable for the whole family.
Cyclists can select their own route according to their experience. All of the routes are well marked and easy to follow while riding your bike.

Select the route according to the indicating route boards, 1,2 or 3.
Route 1 12km (gps route here)
Route 2 20km (gps route here)
Route 3 35km (gps route here)
Route 1 runs through the middle of the farm and is mostly sand road and jeep track and is ideal for beginners.
Routes 2 and 3 incorporate the fantastic one directional single tracks in the Blue Gum Forest and the Mamba trail.
Route 3 takes you down to the bottom of the farm and includes the more technical single track (Winter months only) which runs along the river.
After your ride, why not visit the coffee shop and enjoy a freshly brewed coffee while your bike gets washed. The bike wash is run by the Diepsloot Development project and all bike wash proceeds go towards the project.
Northern Farm operates a NO Helmet, NO Ride policy and embraces the International Mountain Biking Association rules of the trail. (put link to IMBA site here). Other important rules for the safety of all farm users are:
Keep left on jeep tracks and ride in single file
Never ride more than two abreast on the roads
Obey the signs at all times, particularly the no entry signs which are placed for your own safety
Animals ALWAYS have the right of way
No littering under any circumstances
Never ride single tracks in the wrong direction
Be considerate to other farm users
Do not leave the established tracks and ride on virgin soil
Farm vehicles have the right of way
